Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of photographer are you?

I am a FUN photographer that captures lasting images of varying families from different cultures. I especially love family, maternity and couple’s photography.

I do not do traditional wedding photography, however, I am open to discussing intimate wedding ceremonies.  I do not work in a studio, therefore all of my shoots are on location. If I am traveling outside of a 20-mile radius of Atlanta, there is an additional mileage charge. I have a few go to sites in my surrounding area, but am always open to suggestions from my clients on new and interesting locations.

What should I/we wear?

It is best to keep clothing simple. In group photos, color coordinating is always more pleasing to the eye. Wear clothes that represents you and who you are.  If this is a seasonal shoot, I always suggest layers/textures.

Can I wear make-up?

Yes, you may wear make-up. You may also moisturize, but please refrain from using heavy lotions/oils on your skin. The use of these products may lead to the sticking of debris and/or sand to your skin which lead to unnecessary shine in your photos.

What should I bring?

Pack/carry items that are necessary to the shoot. For family and/or children photo sessions: outfit changes, snacks, favorite toy/stuffed animal, etc. Please make sure your little one has been fed and has had a nap (if possible) before the photo session for a more comfortable and positive experience. Photography sessions do tend to end up a distance away (on foot) from the original starting point.

How long does the photo shoot session last?

A typical session goes up to 75 minutes. Unless there is a large group involved this should be more than enough time to capture what we need. I do allow for one wardrobe change during the session. Anything more than that typically becomes too time consuming and takes away from your time in front of the camera. PLEASE BE ON TIME. If you’d like to style/groom your hair, please have that scheduled a few days before.

How do I book you?

BOOK HERE! You'll be prompted to fill out a form that allows me to gather information. Please be advised that a deposit is needed to secure date.

When will I receive my photos?

After our session has ended, I will edit your photos and email you the link to your password protected photos (within 2-3 weeks of your session). Session photos are delivered digitally and will be available to you for viewing and downloading for 15 days. I recommend choosing to have your photos uploaded onto a personalized Shii TookIt flash-drive.

I will usually post a sneak peek photo of the session on my website and/or Facebook page within a few days of your session.

Are there any additional charges for me to receive my photos?

I charge a one-time flat rate for your pictures which are taken at the chosen location. No added sitting fees, special effect fees or huge prices for portraits. The price quoted does include the photo shoot and your digital photo link with all of your images with permission for you to share and print the photos from anywhere and keep forever. If you would like a flash-drive with the session it is an additional $15.00.

What if I do not want a full portrait session?

I understand that a full portrait session may be too much for some clients, so I like to offer a few seasonal mini sessions throughout the year. There is no set time on when these will occur so to get first dibs on signing up (limited space available) make sure that you check out the website for any seasonal deals.

SPECIAL NOTE FROM SHII:

HAVE FUN!! SMILE!!

Most people are under the impression that photos come out perfectly because the photographer is good. FALSE!

The perfection and work rely on your energy, enjoyment and engagement. The more laid back you feel and fun you have, the better your pictures will be. I promise.

I love it when my clients bring new ideas to the table! Feel free to bring along any props or ideas you’d like to try out.
